Meriwether was responsible for the management of all aspects of the resort; including ski operations, F&B, lodging, golf course construction, entitlements and development.
In 2011, Meriwether was engaged by the Lehman Brothers Estate to oversee the management of all aspects of the Moonlight Basin resort community, located in Big Sky, Montana.
Moonlight Basin is an 8,000 acre master plan with 400 existing residents, and more than 1,000 additional residential lots and hotel rooms planned for development, as well as its own 2,000+ acre ski hill and Jack Nicklaus Signature designed golf course. Under Meriwether’s management, the resort was able to reduce their operational burn by more than 80% within the first year. Additionally, Meriwether devised a new master plan, as well as a substantiated business plan – to justify the current and future viability of the overall development project.
These efforts allowed Lehman, with Meriwether’s involvement, to create a competitive bid for the project, which ultimately led to Lehman realizing a significant increase in their overall return upon sale.
